Over Memorial Day weekend, we had a family BBQ.
After eating we all tried this flexibility game.
It was pretty entertaining.
Here is Austin showing everyone how to do it.
I love Taylor's face!
Here is my Mom trying it.
Austin giving more instruction.
Beth giving it a shot.
And Kaylee.
Here is Taylor trying to get the pole over his head.
Yay! Success!
Mom, Uncle Mark, and Aunt Clari.
I absolutely love this picture. They are such a cute family.
The first part of the game is getting both feet/legs over the pole, so that the pole is behind you. Uncle Ryan decided to jump over it. Whatever works I suppose!
None the less it was pretty impressive.
Then once you step over it you have to get the pole over your back so that it is in front of you again. Like the picture above.
After doing that you wrap your leg around the pole and your arm. It gets pretty intense.
Here is Dad trying to get through the first step of getting your legs over the pole.
He did it!
But he couldn't get the pole back over his head.
Nice try Dad!
Here is Rachel giving it a go. Notice how twisted her arms are.
Here she is twisting her leg around her arm and the pole.
After the first step when you have to hold on to the pole and step over it with both legs, you have to then get the pole over your head so that it is back in front of you again. This is Aunt Jul trying to do that.
She did it and then moved on to the next step.
Uncle Mark doing the first step.
Then trying to get it the pole back over his head.
I love the expression on his face!
Here is Uncle Mike giving it a go.
Mom attempting it.
Now that is team work!
Dad tries again!
Aunt Kate. See how she has her leg is wrapped around her arm and then behind the pole. Once you make it to that step, you have to take the outside arm and pull it over your head, behind your back. Then you have to twist so that you can maneuver the pole behind your back again.
(This was the hardest step for me)
After doing that you end up like this. The last step is to step backward over the pole, leaving the pole in front of you, and your body no longer contorted.
It was interesting to see how each person handled each of the steps.
There were lots of laughs and it was great to spend time with the family.
